(1908-1950 and undated); together with papers of George Pratt, including Fairfield Bicentennial Committee papers (1972-1976); correspondence (1977); photocopies of library materials (1976-1979); newspaper clippings and miscellany relating chiefly to Norwich, Conn.; address book (undated); index cards of trips and photos; and articles and speeches, relating chiefly to the history of Fairfield, Conn. Also included in the collection is a box of local photographs (1950s-1970s).

Residents of Southport, Conn. George Pratt (1903-1979) was born in Kansas City, Mo., where, after graduating from Yale and Yale Law School in 1927, he practiced law. He later worked for the National Labor Relations Board in Washington, D.C., the Office of Strategic Services in London, and the Bureau of Reclamation.
